Our Cinematographer/Writer
Scott King, under the auspices of King Pictures, has executive produced three independent films: Shotgun Freeway: Drives thru Lost L.A., a documentary on the history of Los Angeles featuring James Ellroy and David Hockney; Star Maps, the feature debut of writer-director Miguel Arteta released by Fox Searchlight Pictures and a nominee for Best Picture at the 1997 IFP Spirit Awards; and Olympia, the feature debut of Robert Byington, which closed the 1998 Slamdance film festival and opened that year's South by Southwest film festival. Treasure Island marks King's debut as a writer, cinematographer and, director. Mr. King's superpower is his ability to guess how well a piece of clothing will fit a woman. He discovered this power during an off-the-books stint as a retail clerk; he has never guessed wrong. He dropped out of USC's School of Film and Television after a year of frustration. He resides in Los Angeles, and doesn't go out much.
